The manifesto to overcome “The New Year Blues”

Ever had this feeling that you achieved absolutely nothing and it’s already the new year again!! Whenever you think about it you start feeling frustrated, disappointed and sad AKA blue.

Honestly, you’re not alone!  This feeling of blue is a result of a much bigger issue; those distractions, miscalculated steps and undefined purpose are the ones to blame.

Personally I tried the following manifesto and OMG … it works wonders!

stop thinking= stick it on the fridge or maybe put it in your bag !

stop thinking about the past and focus more on the present and future….

This doesn’t work as easily as it sounds, but trust me it can, it just needs some organisational changes

For a start, go to the nearest stationary shop and buy the following items

1- A notebook u feel it looks cool and in carry everywhere size

2- Some colours and select your favorite pen/ pencil

3- Get some colored papers that can be hanged on ur wall & fridge

4- Put your own signature to it with glitter , stickers … sky is your limit.

NOW

let’s get real about it!

This notebook u just got label it my journal

In this awesome journal, that should be with you all the time.. next to your bed and in your bag, you will keep track of where you stand emotionally , professionally and spiritually.

Why we picked this journal so old fashion paper and pen style, simply because we are  cutting off distractions DAH! Staying plugged off ur smart devices will give you the” me time” that one that should be called “ I’ m working on my plan to change the world”, a  distraction free experience.

Now bring the colours and those papers and start drawing your own list of goals for the year … maybe add a checkbox next to every goal, add a note for when, why,  how and where u will get this goal done.

All this seems like an art class, right?

So let’s dive deep in what to write on this list that we will pretty much stick on every wall in the house.?

Every list needs a catchy title …

don’t be afraid to put a name on this passion/ purpose of yours , that one thing you’re proud of being very good at. Get another list for the new hobby you want to learn, this trip you always wanted to go but never managed to afford, the pet you want to have and even a list for the things you need to change or fix around your home.

I will take the career list for example   “Being a star teacher” 2022

Because obviously in 2023 it will be called” Being an award winning teacher who will change the world”) then start numerating your steps for example

1- Get a recognized degree

2- Attend more workshops on teaching skills for example how to use digital stories for learning

3- Learn more about the learner psychology ( based on the age group i am teaching)

4- Seek a better work opportunity where i can shine as a star teacher

5- Start my own vlog on how to be a star teacher, and that one is on my own bucket list.

Now take this awesome plan into action, you will ask me how?

Next to every point you wrote add the checkbox and write your own personal notes on when this item shall be executed. Add some sticky notes and even switch it digitally to keep track of your searches, online courses links and support groups.

If I didn’t try it,  I wouldn’t have recommended it … trust me on this one! That’s a guaranteed method to keep your plan running effectively while eliminating distractions and in 12 months you will celebrate “ new year” blue free.
